Update: An additional backup generator has been delivered this morning and is currently being set up should we need it for the remainder of this event.
Due to the construction at our pump station, LID Solutions delivered mobile command center last night to provide additional facilities for crews to keep 24 hour watch on the pump station.
Pumping operations began last night and ran through the night and are continuing this morning. We anticipate pumping through the day and will be fully pumped down per our EAP. At that time pumping will stop and we will continue to monitor weather.
The backup generator is scheduled to be delivered onsite at 7:30 this morning. We are continuing to monitor river and precipitation forecasts for the area.
The precipitation received in FCLID 2 was just between 6 and 7 inches based on the gage data at the Alcorn Lake outfall at University. Areas to the north of FCLID 2 received between 8 and 10 inches of rain. Please visit the City of Sugar Lands website for current Road Closures.
The Brazos River is projected to peak this morning at 46.6 feet this morning and peak again around the same elevation on Friday. The rainfall projected through the end of the weekend could be as much as 7 inches based on the current forecasting models. The lakes and detention ponds within the District have adequate storage capacity at this time for the predicted rainfall. We will notify everyone of any change in weather river conditions.
