Weather Update – 4:30 PM – May 7, 2019

The current Brazos River Projection at Richmond is 45.9 feet peaking Friday morning. The current 3 day precipitation forecast from the WPC is approximately 3-4 inches of rainfall. The heaviest rainfall is expected through the end of week into the weekend. Current precipitation models are showing 7-8 inches of rainfall for the area through Tuesday (7-day forecast) next week. We are continuing to monitor the precipitation projected for the region and forecasted Brazos river elevations. The Board, the District Engineer and the Operator have been in communication about the current status of the river and the rainfall that is expected. As you are aware, construction is still ongoing at the pump station. The sluice gates at the pump station have been closed. The generator and pump station are fully operational and an additional generator is being delivered to the site as backup.
